Largest Collection of Unusual Pillows

(courtesy of The Internet) It took me a long time to collect them, but it’s worth it. Some of them could be good inspiration for Happillow. Which ones’ your favorite?

Modern and Creative Furniture

Here is a few modern and creative furniture that I like.

I Like LunaTik

Scott Wilson is a great designer. He is co-founder of the design studio Minimal (http://www.mnml.com/) based in Chicago. His studio has produced design for great products such as Xbox + Kinect, Dell Venue Pro,  Uncommon device cases, and several other brands.

Scott has also successfully crowd-fund-raised money for his TikTok+LunaTik Multi-touch Watch Kits on KickStarter. Amazingly pledged by more than 13,500 backers, he raised nearly $1m (almost 6,300 times the requested fund) to create and manufacture his coolest wristband watch kit for iPod nano.

In his second again successfully crowd-funding project, he has created LunaTik Touch Pen. LunaTick Touch Pen is simple, with unique design dual-function pen that can be used as a stylus pen for iPad as well as writing simply on paper. It is designed in different colors and materials for pros and random users both. LunaTik Touch Pen crowd-funding campaign, which still has 4 more days left, has already attracted more than $250k pledged by nearly 3,500 backers.

I like him and think he has made great products.

Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year

It has been a fantastic year. We started Happillow’s Facebook fan page, ¬†Twitter channel, Google Plus page, and this blog. We tried to regularly post updates and interesting stories. I think we have been both successful and lucky.¬†We are so proud to have such wonderful fans. Thank you all.

If we ever make one wish that comes true, may it be a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you. ūüôā

You may be wondering so let me tell you. We will be celebrating Christmas Eve and New Year in Sweden. Snow has already covered everywhere. This is the true Christmas sprit I believe. I will tell you more later about Glögg (the special Swedish Christmas wine), Julbord (the Swedish Christmas table), and some of the Christmas games.

What is gonna happen next year? – you may ask. Well, we have said over and over, 2012 will be Happillow’s year of release. YES ūüôā ¬†and we still have a long way to go, we know it. We are striving and will continue to strive to make Happillow the best pillow, and make it available for purchase from everywhere you are. This is our target and commitment for next year.

As always, we want to hear more from you, so we encourage you to not to stop here – share your thoughts with us, comment, Facebook post, like, tweet, Google plus, and email.

See you soon in 2012

Pillowtalk transfers heartbeats form one pillow to the other

The topic of transferring feelings wirelessly has always been interesting . The work of Joanna Montgomery, a university student, is another example:

“Using sensors built into elastic bands and worn around the chest, the sensors record the wearer’s heartbeat and sends it wirelessly to the partner’s pillow in real time. The pillows glow softly, and hold Arduino boards which contain transceivers from a Polar exercise watch, along with speakers and lights. While it doesn’t sound like a comfortable night’s sleep, the video below demonstrates that it actually produces a very harmonious sleeping environment. Wake-Up With Sunshine

I have always been one of those who badly respond to a sudden shock of clock’s alarm. For me this always results in putting my clock to snooze frequently until I get so annoyed that either I would shot it off and go back to sleep, or would wake up with a headache and bad temper. If you have felt like this ever, you might wanna take a look at this.

Philips’ Wake-up Light claims to have solved this problem. Philips’ new Wake-up Light simulates sunshine by slowly getting brigther. This way you will wake up in a natural way, similar to waking up in a nice and sunny summer morning.

“Most people feel more energetic and fit during the bright and sunny summer season when they‚Äôre outdoors enjoying natural light. Both sunshine and daylight have a positive effect on us. When we are exposed to the right type of light, it helps to align our daily rhythm or wake up more easily. With this in mind, Philips has developed a complete range of light therapy products that boost your energy by using the unique health benefits light offers.”

I might get one for my grandma, but what I need now is only a nice and deep sleep ūüôā

Mutewatch – Another Awesome Swedish Design

Mutewatch is a £179 wrist watch. It has a unique design unlike any other watch, at least that I have seen! But price and design are not its only surprises.

Young entrepreneurs of this Sweden based company has turned a watch into what is called “time management tool” by online and press reviewers. By tapping on its blank surface the time reveals itself. Through subsequent tapping and swiping up/down and left/right you can set the time and alarm.

Mutewatch is designed to change the way we manage our time. When the alarm goes off, Mutewatch starts to vibrate instead of playing a ringtone. This way you would not disturb others and only you would notice the reminder alarm.

Additionally it has some useful other features such as a motion sensor that adjusts vibration strength, pinch to erase an alarm, and charging via USB port. It comes in different colors. I have seen a red, gray, and black Mutewatch.

I think it is awesome. What do you like about it?

What is Happillow?

Happillow is an state-of-the-art pillow designed to fashion your bed-room. It is more than just a pillow. We designed it to be interactive. It is a unique combination of a pillow and a digital alarm clock, therefore it is equipped with a digital alarm clock. The clock is designed to show the time through a set of glowing LEDs shinning from under the pillow’s cover.

How does Happillow work?

The inner clock shows the time through a set of glowing LEDs shinning from under the pillow’s cover. The clock is power by a¬†lithium battery similar to mobile phone’s battery.

An alarm can be set to wake you up. Simply shake the pillow to turn on the alarm. Turn the pillow upside/downside to set the alarm. cool, isn’t it?

When the alarm goes off, the pillow will go through three step to wake you up depending on how deep your sleep is.

Step 1, the LEDs start to blink with a lowest brightness. As seconds passes the LEDs blink brighter.

Step 2, after a few seconds, the pillow will begin vibrating until it wakes you up.

Step 3, if you are still not awake after a few seconds, the inner speakers of the pillow will play a ringtone from softest to loudest.

The alarm can be turned off by shaking the pillow.

When the pillow senses someone’s head on it, it automatically turns the LED lights off in order to not to create a relaxing condition.
